‘Mama June’ Lauryn Efird and Josh Efird have finalized their divorce, with a complete settlement shocking fans
Oh, no. Another celeb divorce!
Mama June’s daughter Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird has filed for divorce from her husband of six years, Josh Efird! According to Page Six, she filed the docs on Thursday in Wilkinson County, Georgia, noting that the relationship was “irretrievably broken.” Oof. While they had a wedding ceremony in Vegas on April 30, 2018, the docs note they weren’t legally married until June 17, 2018, btw.
The only good news, if you can call it that, is that the exes have already “reached a full and final agreement on all issues of divorce, custody, visitation, children support, division of property, alimony and division of debt.” That’ll help them handle this split more in private!
According to the court papers, the co-parents will share legal and physical custody of their children, Ella, 6, Bentley, 3, and twins Sylus and Stella, 2, and split time as agreed upon in their parenting plan. They both waived their right to alimony and child support “due to the joint custodial relationship” between them. They also agreed to “equally divide the expenses of the minor children, including but not limited to uncovered medical expenses, extracurricular activities and necessary school expenses.”
Pumpkin, who is 24, will claim Bentley and Stella on her income taxes while her ex, who is 28, will claim the other children. Josh plans to move out of the family house in Gordon and his name will be removed from the lease within 60 days, leaving the reality star “responsible for all indebtedness on said property” as well as “all other expenses associated with the home.” They both have vehicles and bank accounts in their own name, so those will remain the same.
Sad to see the marriage come to an end, but it’s refreshing to see they’ve finalized the split so seemingly amicably! We hope co-parenting stays that way, too!
Josh & Lauryn Efird Move Fast
Mama June fans noticed that Lauryn Efird updated her Facebook profile recently. Of course, her relationship status has changed from married to single, but more importantly, she’s changed her name.
Now, her profile reads “Lauryn Mychelle Shannon,” taking back her maiden name. Some Mama June fans think this may be because she has a new man, Darrin Kitchens. He has been a friend of the family for some time and even has photos with some of Lauryn’s kids on social media.
“Like the old adage says, ‘Like mother like daughter!’ Gotta have a man, even if you’re married! Way to go Pumpkin!” one fan wrote on Reddit. Another pointed out, “I read Josh has a girlfriend already too. They move fast!!”
Considering Pumpkin just officially filed for divorce a week ago, it does seem like things are moving pretty fast. However, one Mama June fan suggested that they could have been on the rocks for a while. There have been whispers that there was cheating going on.
