Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson Shares Major Post-Grad Announcement
Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson is growing up before viewers’ eyes. No longer is she the little pageant girl. Now she is a grown teenager with a serious boyfriend and her sights set on the future. Earlier, the reality star shed some light on what life after high school holds, and it’s pretty exciting.
Growing Up Honey Boo Boo
Viewers first met Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ when she was just a wee little thing on Toddlers and Tiaras. She had a spunk and personality that launched her into her own series. Here Comes Honey Boo Boo was developed by TLC and revolved around HBB and her eclectic family. Along with her mother, Mama June, her father, Sugar Bear, and her sisters, their weekly antics kept fans tuning in like a guilty pleasure. Mama always was fixing something unusual in the kitchen or chugging honey from the plastic bear. Meanwhile, a loud train would disrupt meaningful family conversations like clockwork. After four seasons, the show was canceled and Honey Boo Boo had to deal with her parents separating.
She soon started to grow up but as she was doing that, her mother spiraled downward. June got heavy into drugs along with her boyfriend Geno Doak and ran through her savings. Fortunately, Alana’s sister, Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird stepped up and wanted to raise her. Their mother ended up getting arrested and going to rehab. Now, Mama June: Road to Redemption has returned and June is doing all she can to reconcile with her girls. However, Alana is not jumping back in so quickly. She is older now and much more cautious with a lot going on.
Moving On And Upwards
On the show, it is noted that Alana is growing up. First off, she is a teenager and will be leaving the nest eventually. Secondly, she does have an older boyfriend, who will be introduced later on in the season. He is twenty and they have now been together for around a year. She is not little Honey Boo Boo anymore as she will be seventeen in August. Now, she has something major to share and she did it via her social media. She has been accepted to college, more specifically Georgia Military College. Alana tagged the acceptance letter “brains and beauty.”
Recently, her mother acknowledged that Alana was thinking of going into nursing. She also shared that Alana most likely would not make a lifelong career out of reality television. That is yet to be seen as her fans would probably follow her as she went off to college. It has been great to watch the woman she has evolved into. Congrats on the acceptance. There are probably many more where that came from.
