In a shocking turn of events, reality TV star Mama June, known for her role in Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, has revealed she’s battling a severe illness
ATLANTA, March 9 (UPI) – Reality TV star June Shannon, also known as Mama June, was urgently hospitalized on Friday due to pneumonia and severe dehydration.
June, the former star of the show “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” had shared on social media earlier in the week that she wasn’t feeling well. On Tuesday, she revealed on Twitter: “This morning I didn’t feel good because of the crazy weather.” Although the seriousness of her condition was initially unclear, things quickly took a turn for the worse when Mama June struggled to get out of bed on Friday morning, with her fever spiking to 103 degrees Fahrenheit (around 39.4 degrees Celsius), according to TMZ.
Concerned for Shannon’s well-being, a family member drove her to the emergency room at a hospital in Georgia. There, doctors diagnosed her with pneumonia and severe dehydration. Shannon was treated at the hospital throughout the day, receiving IV fluids and medications to stabilize her condition.
After a day of treatment, she was discharged later on Friday, with doctors advising her to rest in bed for several days to fully recover. News of Mama June’s hospitalization sparked concern among fans, especially those who have followed her career since the early days of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.” Many sent well wishes for her recovery on social media, hoping she would get well soon.
Currently, Mama June is recovering at home, while her fans and family continue to closely monitor her condition. However, she has been advised to take time off to fully regain her strength after this serious illness.
